About Us!
"The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble."
-Psalm 9:9
Here at The Refuge we strive to be a place for teenagers to come and find rest from the chaos of life. We want to help teenagers understand that God is with them through everything. We know that when life gets crazy, overbearing or just plain hard, Jesus tells us: "Come to me all you who are weary and heavy burdened, and I will give you rest."
We hope to get a chance to meet you! Come check us out on Wednesday nights from 6:30 - 8:30 at Pinnacle Community Church located at 7305 S Coulter.

Current Series
Our friends are some of the most important people in our lives. Our friends know us best. They’re the people we’ve spent countless hours with telling stories, laughing, and creating memories together. We all know having great friendships means a lot more than just having people to hang out with, but how do you find friends like that? How do you build the kinds of friendships that last? And what do you do if you feel like your friendships aren't everything you'd want them to be? In this four-week series from the Gospels, we’ll take a look at how Jesus treated the people he cared about in order to learn how we can better treat our friends. Through Jesus' example, we’ll discover that friends don’t miss a chance to care for each other, aren’t afraid to challenge each other, don’t let differences divide them, and aren’t afraid to talk about what they believe.
Next Series
The Bible is full of things that seem almost "beyond belief." Sometimes that's because the stories we read on its pages are miraculous — especially the story of Exodus. Like, did God really split a whole sea in half, speak to Moses from a burning bush, or rescue all those people from enslavement? Other times, the Bible says things that sound a little too good to be true — like, is God really as loving, kind, patient, or powerful as Scripture says? And can God really use each of us to do big things in the world? In this four-week series from the book of Exodus, we’ll explore what the story of Moses and the Israelites can help us discover about doubt and belief. We'll talk about how, when you doubt yourself, God can still use you. And we'll see how, when you doubt God, it's okay to ask questions because God still offers guidance and always takes care of you.
The Refuge Leadership Team
Mason jones
Youth Minister
My name is Mason! I first gained a passion for student ministry while attending a youth conference when I was 15 years old where I first heard the calling to ministry. I first started serving in The Refuge in 2016 and became the youth minister for Pinnacle in July of 2021. I have loved every minute of getting to help kids understand that they are deeply loved by their Father in Heaven.
Cortney Jones
Table Leader
Hi! I am Cortney, and I serve alongside my husband, Mason Jones. I have attended and served at Pinnacle for 10 years. My journey began in the youth at 15. I loved seeing how God used the leaders to pour into the lives of students. Ever since then I have wanted to serve in Ministry. I am so grateful to now be the one who gets to pour into the kids.
Alex laughlin
Sound Supervisor
My name is Alex! I have been going to Pinnacle for 26 years which is basically my whole life! I have been serving in youth for 6 years now. I love helping kids get to know Jesus and help them grow in their faith. I even met my future wife, Kaitlin, while serving in youth. I am passionate about several things in life but 2 of the biggest passions of mine are serving and if you couldn't tell from my picture... Dr. Pepper.
Kaitlin Raible
Game Leader
Hey! I'm Kaitlin! I've been attending Pinnacle since 2019 and started volunteering in Kidz Jam before my friend, Taylor, convinced me to start hanging out with a bunch of teens! Now 3 years later I am so happy to be apart of the Refuge because of how special these kids are. Watching them grow in their faith and just grow up is so rewarding! I am also a full time nanny and getting to marry my best friend, Alex in October!
Manny Nunez
Table Leader
Shalom! My name is Manny Nunez, I have been attending Pinnacle for 2 years now and have served in youth the whole time! Pinnacle has been a huge blessing in my life. I am extremely blessed to serve in the youth and pour into them just as many have poured into me. I am so excited for the future of Pinnacle and The Refuge!
Taylor Cato
Table Leader
Howdy! My name is Taylor! I have attended Pinnacle since 2020. I started cautiously serving in the youth as the church was opening up from the pandemic! I've developed some amazing relationships with leaders and kids over that time. I also broke my wrist in the youth back in 2021 and now serve as an example to all about playing games in my sock on smooth floors!
